STANDARD PENDANT TYPE FIXTURES
Standard Pendant type light fixture(s) extend approximately 16” down from ceiling. Chemical storage building height can be raised to accommodate these fixtures or the light fixture(s) can be relocated to corners or walls to avoid walking into them.
LINEAR TYPE FLOURESCENT FIXTURES
Optional Linear type Fluorescent Fixture(s) are mounted near the center of the ceiling and are positioned to give fire suppression components center-ceiling priority. The ballast is rated for 20 degrees Fahrenheit and for cold weather starts. The ballast is also thermally protected for temperatures down to 0 degrees Fahrenheit.
All Lights mentioned above are controlled with a non-explosion proof switch located 3ft from a door or opening or near a Load Center. Explosion Proof Switches are available as an option and can be located near doors to meet Customer needs. The Explosion Proof Switch is UL listed and rated for Class I, Div 1, Groups C & D hazardous locations. These Switches are suitable for Indoor or Outdoor use. The standard location of the switch is on the right hand end wall unless otherwise specified. One switch will control all lights unless specified otherwise within drawings.
All interior and exterior fixture types mentioned above are assembled at arrival, are UL Listed and sealed in a heavy duty housing, glass globe and protective metal guard.
OPTIONAL EMERGENCY LIGHTING
Emergency lighting is available as an option w/ 6 volt battery back up for means of lighting an egress path when required by local ADJ. The Emergency Light(s) are designed for the following:
- Class I, Div. 2, Groups B, C, D
- Class I, Zone 2
- Wet Locations
- NEMA 3, 3R

EXPLOSION PROOF LIGHTING
US Chemical Storage explosion proof interior lighting is made with sealed heavy-duty housing, a glass globe, and a protective metal guard. Corrosion proof, water resistant construction prevents sparks within the housing, dramatically reducing the risk of igniting dust, gases, vapors, or fibers in the air surrounding the fixture.
The optimized design of our blast proof interior light fixtures reduces the temperature of the bulb, improves light transmission, and increases bulb life by utilizing excellent heat radiation technologies.
An exterior UL Listed light switch that activates the interior lights will allow staff to quickly operate these accessories. These explosion proof interior lighting units will not be impacted by changing temperatures or weather conditions during installation, ensuring prolonged performance and safety.

NON-EXPLOSION PROOF INTERIOR LIGHTING
Our non-explosion proof interior lights are encased in die-cast aluminum, silicone gaskets, and thermal shock resistant soda lime glass to prevent shattering and resist degrading in the presence of high temperatures.
Built to strictly adhere to all regulations, these indoor incandescent fixtures set industry standards in compliance where explosion proof interior lighting is not required.
Spark resistant filaments are used inside our shatter proof bulbs to ensure combustible dust or fumes do not present a safety risk. We also offer 90°C supply wiring to add even greater heat tolerance.
Standard globes are clear, thermal shock resistant soda lime glass; colored, and unbreakable globes are available as well depending on your needs.

NON-EXPLOSION PROOF EXTERIOR LIGHTING
Our non-explosive proof exterior lights are built to illuminate chemical storage buildings where explosion proof rating is not required. Die cast aluminum casing is secured with high quality brass screws, ensuring product performance and durability.
These industrial weatherproof fixtures make use of top quality porcelain sockets with 150C 8” leads. The standard globes are secured with thermal, shock, and heat resistant soda lime polycarbonate glass
Internal gaskets are made from high temperature silicone to extend life regardless of heat or weather abuse. Our exterior lamps can also be constructed with 90°C supply wiring, further improving safety in the event of an emergency.
Our weather proof exterior lights can be used in continually wet or harsh climates — fully compliant with UL Standard 1598 for non-hazardous locations. Each weather proof bulb is rated at 12,000 hours, 90% efficiency, and can be mounted to any junction box. The lamps are 9 ¾” tall and 6” wide at the top and weigh 3.8 lbs.
