CUSTOM ENGINEERED CHEMICAL STORAGE SOLUTIONS AND FIRE SAFTY PLANS
Custom engineered chemical storage and modular building options
for hazardous chemicals and materials storage.

At US Chemical Storage, custom engineering is a process of communication between you, the client, and the design and technical engineering staff. We take into consideration the volume of materials you are storing, the interactions of specific chemicals when mixing and handling, accessibility, temperature requirements and location of your building.
When you work with US Chemical Storage to select your building, you have the assurance that design and engineering professionals have evaluated your storage and handling needs for safety, compliance and usage at your site.
That‘s why US Chemical Storage is more than just a building manufacturer. We are a full service company that can follow your project from the design through it's ultimate placement on site. It‘s not just about storing and containing a chemical. It‘s about how accessible the chemical has to be, whether it needs to be indoors or out, heated, cooled or even refrigerated, dispensed or mixed. It‘s about solving storage and handling issues without disrupting a manufacturing process. And it‘s about becoming compliant, and doing so if an effective way that will stand the test of time.

What is Fire Safety Engineering?
Fire safety engineering is the application of science and engineering principles to the design and practice of protecting against the unwanted effects of fire. It is most usually applied to the protection of buildings, but is also applicable to other structures, industrial plant, ships and marine, and transport systems. The use of fire safety engineering can produce optimum solutions with regard to cost and design restrictions while still providing necessary protection for people and the built and natural environment.
Fire safety is a more general term than fire safety engineering and also includes the use of prescriptive and legislative guidance to produce appropriate fire protection packages and or storage recommendations, to conduct fire safety risk assessments. Given the great variety of fire protection equipment, methods and products available, determining the most suitable in any given situation is not easy for the lay person. Many things must be considered: MSDS Sheets, Segregation, Temperature, Flash-point, Vapors, etc. The Engineering Team at US Chemicals Storage has the latest codes and regulations available to our customers. We are regularly inspected by Third Party Inspectors such as Factory Mutual Global and Warnock Hersey and we a re proud to say all of our models meet or exceed their standards.
Fire safety is a specialist discipline. Only those qualified and experienced in its application are fully able to determine the best fire protection storage solutions in any particular case; especially safe and possible segregated chemical storage. US Chemical Storage has such expertise in house it will be obliged to offer recommendations that you can then get approved by your local officials.

Advice on all types of chemical storage building and structures (new and existing) is available.
Fire Risk Assessment
The assessment of the risk of fire and determination of the adequacy of fire precautions. These can be:
Qualitative (e.g. to meet the Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations)
Quantitative (in depth mathematical study to determine absolute risk)
Fire safety audit and inspection
The review of existing precautions and/or procedures against defined performance criteria
Fire safety training
Fire detection system selection, design and evaluation
Fire suppression system selection, design and evaluation
Passive fire protection selection, design and evaluation
The protection of buildings and structures generally (but not always) using applied fire protective products and materials
Product assessments
The assessment of the performance of fire protection products and variations of these products based on fire test evidence for the application specified.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT AFTER YOU PACE YOUR ORDER
- You will be emailed or faxed a copy of your "General Arrangement" AUTOCAD drawing. This is the document that you approve the placement of the doors and accessories and authorize us to begin production of your building based upon the approved drawings. This is always done in a timely fashion because "Lead Time" does not begin, until we have sign and approved Order Confirmation and Approval Drawings in house.
- If you order a Submittal Package, you can expect to receive three copies of your drawings with a state certified engineers seal on them. This is so you can provide a copy to your building inspector/department and one to your Fire Marshall and keep one copy for yourself. Additional copies are available at a nominal cost to the buyer.
- If you require State Approval, please see the APPROVALS page to see you are required to have one. In our experience, the final jurisdiction is up to the local official, so many times the state approval is not required when you think it would be. Always check with your local Fire Marshall and/or Building Inspector to find out what your true needs will be regarding Approvals and Permits.
- Third Party Approvals. Both FM and Warnock Hersey are Third Party Approval Organizations that have approved all of our standard models. If a Third Party Approval is required in your state, your local official make accept the FM Sticker or Warnock Hersey Approval as such. If not, US Chemical Storage Contract with several engineering firms for these approval such as Pyramid One and T.R. Arnold and Associates. We can provide approvals for all of our buildings in all states and territories.
